Always can rely on this awesome establishment. Location is amazing. Outdoor patio fab and as you can see from pic, enjoying my beer. This is a nitro coffee ale. Yum. Never had this before. Service is great. Same guy who is here all the time is quick and nice.

I've been here a few times since it's in my neighborhood. You standard McMenamin's fare - good happy hour deals, etc. The reason the rating is so low is that on at least two separate occasions we've had just the rudest server. Now I tend to be at least SOMEWHAT aware of my demeanor, and usually err on the side of kindness and appreciation, especially if someone is having a hard time. But when the server (men, both times) gives you the vibe that you've somehow pissed them off from the moment you walk in, and that doesn't change no matter how much you thank them.... look, I don't need you to be the jovial clowny guy, but at least don't be a dick, yeah?

This is a McMenamins establishment, which generally merits three stars. Three stars is the golden mean for McMenamins in that every McMenamins experience meets, but does not exceed your expectations. The beer is...meh. The food is...meh. The service is...usually slow, but the venues are outstanding. So add service to venue and you get another...meh.
The Hillsdale Brewery is the same. It's nice place, with measured pour cocktails and a pretty limited menu of mediocre food. Last time I was here the service was actually pretty fast! If you're looking for a place for a date, or a quick family bite, this place is okay. Not more and not less. -

My first McMenamins! I hear they're all over Oregon, but not so much in Washington where I'm from. I actually thought most of the food was above average, from the crispy tots to the green salad with pickled onions to the fancy local organic ketchup. However, the burger was just average, although I did like the little bit of oily crispiness in the bun. Shame, because it sounded great on paper (grilled mushrooms, peppers, cheese). Not a bad meal, but I wouldn't go out of my way to eat here again.

Yup it's a Mcmenamins! I came in with a group of 6 friends on a whim Saturday evening. The fare is your standard mcmenamins menu, I had the veggie gyro which was delish. They have their usual beers, wines and cocktails. You cant go wrong with a ruby! Their seasonal cocktails are always tasty too. We had good service and the patio was nice (& dog friendly!).
